Why Do Some Have More Than Most?
Because some have less conscience than most? Probably.
Quoted from Gail’s post (click on the above link to read the full detail):
The design concept of Sikreto.Com is mine, the design concept that the author and site owner, Al McCaw (Al Sembrano), had a full refund for. The implementation of the site had slight changes from the original, but the design concept per se is unchanged.
And now, the author is threatening to sue Gail! He said he paid her in full for the book cover and that she should stop posting “lies” about him and his book.
I don’t know where he got this one because if you would read the post, you’d see that she’s talking about the web design and not the book cover. Nowhere in the post did she even mentioned that!
What’s happening to her is sad, and all he had to do was to put down the design and come up to a designer and ask for a redesign of his site, no harm done, there will be no stain on his name, his book, nor his records.
It had always been my and my family’s belief that we’d rather be poor forever as long as we have our name intact. I know it sounds weird to some but for us, it makes sense. A name is not just a name, it will accompany me for the rest of my life, unless I opt to change it but it will still be displayed in my records. It will represent myself for my entire life that just a speck of dirt can be, well, not good. That’s why my parents would tell us time and time again that as long as we can display our names with pride for the whole world to see then we are already rich, in our own sense of the word.
Now, back to the man of the hour, what kind of reputation will he leave for his kids? His grandkids? And to think he has a book! Bad publicity is still publicity? Well definitely not on this one, that’s why he’s going through such lengths so as to sue Gail.
Why? For starters, if a book’s site was accused of ripping somebody else’s design, wouldn’t it make you wonder if his book was copied elsewhere too? The church’s banning Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code served him well because it sparked curiosity among the people. Will this controversy act as a catalyst for his book to be a “best seller” as well? Answer? No.
A cheat is a cheat. A lie is a lie. Even if you look at it at different angles, it will still remain as is.
