6 Weird Things About Me and Proud to be Pinoy

Is this the month of memes? I just have to ask because I’ve been getting lots of it lately, 4 in a month? :) Anyway, I was tagged twice last week, first was Marc — I’m supposed to mention 6 weird things about me and the other one was Shari — 3 things that made you proud to be Pinoy. The reason why I haven’t posted this sooner is not because of workload (which has been my favorite excuse as of late) but because I’m just plain lazy to do so hehe plus I don’t know who to tag anymore. :P OK, onto the memes…

Marc tagged me to post 6 weird things about me, here goes:

  1. I don’t drink coffee. I don’t like the taste, though I have to admit that its aroma is very inviting, but no. I don’t like coffee, I don’t know why though because I used to want to drink it when I was still younger. Even if I have to stay up until the morning, I do not get the urge to drink one, I get cravings for some chocolates though.
  2. I love reading/watching crime novels/shows even though the only thing it accomplish is to have me even more scared. When I was still in College, I find myself staying up until midnight just so I could watch Discovery Channel’s Crime Night, and then when the show is over I will race to my room or leave the lights on in the dining area. I’m so scared but I still love watching it, it’s like an addiction to me now… I know it’s bad (because I’m scared) but I can’t stop watching/reading about it. Whenever I watch some gruesome case, I get the feeling that the victim is somewhere near me, ghosts… I’m afraid of them. Very, very afraid.
  3. I’m easily affected whenever someone tells me a ghost story or anything gross. I have an active imagination, so whenever someone tells me something gross in detail… I can picture it. Gross meaning cutting someone else’s body, opening it up, big ugly bruises, oozing blood… eek! That’s why I never wanted to be a nurse even if my life depended on it.
  4. I’m extremely shy but I took Mass Communication anyway. I’m not good with dealing with people, as you may have noticed by now. I can’t stand being in the center of attention OR having to talk in front of a lot of people. One of the reasons why I took Mass Communication was because (aside from I wanted to be an investigative journalist) I thought it could “cure” my shyness. It didn’t.
  5. I would rather buy a book than dress. *ahem* I find clothes waste of money. That’s weird, right? I don’t know, I do not mind buying a PhP600 worth of book but I do regret having to buy PhP200++ worth of clothes. I’ve never been the fashionista kind, shirt and jeans are decent enough for me. No need for the frills.
  6. Twitter, Jaiku and now MyBlogLog freaks me out sometimes but I still use them anyway. Yeah, they kinda freak me out, having to let people know my whereabouts, it reminds me of Jim Carrey’s The Truman Show. In case you haven’t noticed, I tend to do stuff that scare the shit out of me. I guess I really am THAT stubborn.

Now I’m supposed to tag people for this I choose: Shari (your turn! hehe), Darwin, Tina, LA and Ely (do you do these kinds of things?

Now, Shari tagged me to post three reasons why I’m proud to be Pinoy and here they are:

  1. I own some of the world’s most beautiful sights. Whether it is man-made or not.
  2. I am part of a country where most of the people are happy. No matter what we’re going through, no matter where we are in life, we always get it in us to smile in front of adversity.
  3. We are ingenious, adaptive and inventive. Give us a problem and we’ll definitely find ways to solve it. Trapos doesn’t work? Vote for celebrities, celebrities suck? Bring back the trapos. But seriously, no matter where we are, we are always able to adapt to our environment and we use to our advantage. We are able to create tasty dishes that we and others alike enjoy.

Now it’s these people’s turn: Alex, Liz, Marc and Ganns

Hi Mae P. :) Blog-hopped here from Toni’s. Very interesting blog you have here. I’ve been tagged for the Weird Things Meme, too… and I haven’t done it yet! I am also easily affected when someone tells me something gross, and I once told someone else the same thing: I have an active imagination. :)
