A Night of Game Talk with some Gorgeous Bloggers

Apparently, this post is 5 days late, sheesh where in the world am I hiding these days, noh? I was two days late for my own blog’s anniversary, looking at my archives, I was four days late in blogging about my birthday as well! Can’t really say about my being able to update my readers in a timely manner, eh?

Anyway, last Wednesday (that’s July 4, 2007 for you), I met up with blogosphere’s best faces and minds *ahemcan’treallysayaboutthefigureexceptforrhizahem* so we could then meet up with Digital Media Exchange’s (DME) Managers of New Media, Creative and Research and Corporate Communications — Eric M. Roceles and Riane Garlin, respectively. It is so they could talk about the newest games that their online gaming division - Mobius - will be launching (or have launched) to the masses. They have a lot of games up their sleeves I’m actually having a hard time choosing which game to play first :) Let’s see… There’s MobiusKids, Eve Online, Rakion, Toon Town, GoPets and Mobius Arcade. What did I tell you?! A lot, huh?!

Saying that I had a lot of fun with that meeting (if you could call that a meeting) is an understatement, I learned a lot, mainly about Mobius. I have to confess that time went on with me thinking that Mobius is just a copycat of Level Up! — publisher of my beloved Ragnarok, heh. But I was wrong, as always.

DME is promoting Mobius as the game publishers who knows that gaming is a lifestyle and if they cannot make the hardcore gamers convert to play their games, then why not make the “non-gamers” (for the lack of better term) play their games? It makes sense, the only question is the how - they figured that trick to make that happen is to make non-gamers fall in love with the games that they publish.

Honestly, I have always been an LU! fan, my all-time favorite is Ragnarok and played ROSE for a few months before it was officially released to the public. I did enjoy it probably because it is just a game, mindless and can will your time away. I was there for the eye-candy, cute characters, colorful surroundings, and cute “monsters.” And one of the things that turns me off of Mobius games is the fact that their games seems so dark, but I guess it’s my fault too since I never gave any of their games a chance except for Gunbound but I suck in target shooting bleh hehe

Anyway, I’ll try them all later, I downloaded Kim Possible when I got home and played it for a while. Yes indeed, it is quite addictive and yes, my hand and eye coordination sucks.

I just wanna say that I never thought I’d find great friends through the internet, I’m glad that I have found these girls and that we are all crazy in some way. I had a lot of fun just walking wherever that is and having our pictures taken by Joni’s beloved Deej.

Our “kape-kape” session finally commenced and I want more of it. It’s different when you’re with people you really jive with in a relaxing environment.

I really had fun that night, I wish I could tell everything but alas, it seems that no words can describe the best things in life :)

Ditto on “never thought I’d find great friends through the internet”… Unfortunately, distance is a factor for me… as most of the bloggers I’ve wanted to meet live in the Philippines and I don’t.

I have learned a lot this past year about my ethnic roots… reconnecting to that part of me that seemed lost all these years…. And blogging helped me to that, strangely enough.
