Taste Asia and of Old Times

I’m not really very good with people and I’m sure if you’ve met me and know me personally, you would agree. However, this week I’ve been to three meet-ups that I could fool myself into believing that I do have an active social life despite what I want myself to believe. Having sorta crappy connection helps as well, BTW.

Best Buddies

Last Saturday afternoon, I found myself at Trinoma with my lifelong friend, Arvie, who is as liberated as I am conservative, thin as I’m fat and friendly and loud as I’m shy and reserved.

We watched Bourne Ultimatum (which is very, very good, imo even though I did got motion sickness) and I couldn’t forget the following lines:

Bourne

Where are you?
Vosen

In my office.
Bourne

I doubt that.
Vosen

Why?
Bourne

Because if you’re in your office, we would be having this conversation face-to-face.

C’mon who wouldn’t like that?!

A few minutes after we left the cinema, Juvette messaged Arvie and said she’ll be with us shortly. She did found us after a couple more text messages and was immediately reminded why I love these girls to pieces.

Juvette

You’re fat!
Me

Why can’t we talk about something else?!
Juvette

It suits you though, you finally got breasts! Congrats!

It’s not something I want to hear, but beggars can’t be choosers now, can we?

The three of us stayed at Trinoma til 1 in the morning just talking about anything and everything. Mostly about our childish stupidity, work, love-life (or lack thereof) and our other friends hehe. Like we have this friend who failed in the nursing exam after months of not talking to us and/or not coming to our planned meet-ups (well she was there but had to leave a few minutes after I arrived) because she had to “review”. We told her to not take the exam that seriously because the last time she did she flunked the PUP exam (I know!), but she didn’t heed to our reminders. Anyway, so she says her next plan is to migrate to New Zealand to take their nursing exam there hahahahahaha!

Times like these, I remember why I love these girls so much, we can take each other silliness, stupidity and craziness and not take it against each other. Here are the people who I can totally relax with and spend the whole 11 hours talking to and still feel that it isn’t enough because it felt like it was just a few hours. I told the two that we should meet again next time and they said yes, I do hope we could push it through though.

Taste Asia

August 23 was the Taste Asia Event which was tagged as the biggest blog party ever. I went there, together with my officemates and one of our bosses, really just to see Joni, Liz and Riz again and never expected it to be that huge. I have to agree with Joni that it wasn’t as intimate as before but I was able to do what I wanted to do there… And there was free food!

Again, beggars can’t be choosers.

I was able to see, meet and greet other blogger friends again, Shari and her brother Robby, Apples and Chris, Darwin, Ely, Jomar and my ever favorite Ganns (who lost a lot weight by the way, congratulations, wish I could do the same!). I also saw a glimpse of L.A., Fer, MarcVill and Yoru. And met new ones too! Marian, Romzkee and Paul Vincent (hi!). Tina wasn’t there though (where are you??). And lastly, ogled at the “cybercelebs” Marcelle and Sorsi who emceed the event, Marc, and The Man Blog crowd! I asked Liz and Joni to go look for them, just to see the faces behind the infamous blog, but Liz doesn’t want to go anywhere near them even though I told her they’re really not as perverted as they (meaning their blog posts) seem to be.

College buddies

Then last night, my college friends and I met again for another night of laughter, silliness and food. It wasn’t as taut as before and I had a lot of fun!

Greeting me with “You’re getting fatter” didn’t made me very relaxed though. As a matter of fact, I’m thinking I should undergo a month-long starvation diet so I could get thinner. That is, after I consumed this helpful serving of chocolate sundae and a huge chocolate cake then that Italian pasta I’ve been craving since last week. Oh, and that Sbarro pizza as well! Right! And if ever I lose weight (which I’m sure I will), I’ll treat myself to a Belgian Waffle and Chocolate Cream in Starbucks and that Carbonara and Mocha Frost in Mocha Blends.

Yey! I can’t wait to lose weight so I could binge again! What a fun life I’m living.

IT has been getting importance day by day. The testking is the best site that provides expert level certification exams like Cisco ccie and Cisco ccda certifications. These exams are intended for those who want to be certified networking engineers. If you want to become an expert of security systems, then CISSP assists you to do so. Good choice. We would’ve eaten you. And your unborn children.

I was at my own meet up myself…my high school best friends visited me at Eastwood for dinner. Between Eastwood (where I work) and MOA…geography won me over. Oops. Sayang lang I missed all the free food (for the second time since I missed the first one din!)…and it’s been ages since I last saw you guys. Ohwell. Bawi ako next time (as always). :D

Haha, I agree! Minsan inuunahan ko na yung mga tao, ako na nagsasabi na mataba ako para hindi sila mauna. Being a bit on the heavy side makes food tripping less fun, hmph. [-(

Well you sound like a friendly and lovely person to me! :) IM super shy as well and have bad anxiety so in social situations it depends on how IM feeling whether I can be relaxed or not.

I loved those lines in that movie as well, it was a really good movie.
