Bombing in Glorietta

I woke up today, as usual, to a headache and my father’s voice. This headache wasn’t what I felt the past few days though, it was worse and it hurt whenever I moved and my tummy’s upset as well (no, it’s not LBM! It feels like I’m so full but I haven’t eaten anything yet and it makes me want to vomit but I couldn’t take anything out… whatever) so I thought, ah, I’ll just work here!

Then a few hours later, I got news that there was an explosion in Glorietta, I guess I really am such an indifferent bitch because I didn’t even felt anything aside from being thankful that I felt horrible this morning and mad because I won’t be able to watchPerfume tomorrow as planned (the movie’s only shown there). But after reading MLQ’s post about the posts of the people who were there, I thought how lucky I really was that I’m in the safety of my home when the bombing happened and that this really is no joking matter. This is real. 8 people are dead and a lot of people are injured. How can I be so unfeeling?

I hope that the people who are responsible for this despicable act gets the karma they deserve. Ah, no, I honestly don’t trust the government to find the real truth behind this. For all we know, they are the ones who are actually responsible for this.

I always have twitterrifc open because I don’t want to miss any twits that are coming in during the day and I laughed when Aileen Apollo said “just a thought… pansinin… tuwing nagkakabukingan sa govt… palaging may sabugan.

Please note that after this, everything are but speculations and I really don’t have any basis for this except for those actual events. (And in case you’re wondering, yes, I love detective stories)

I thought that it was really, really silly, I thought it was purely coincidental until I saw something intriguing, there is another impeachment case against President Arroyo and because I don’t have anything better to do, I searched the Valentine’s Day Bombing which happened two years ago and look what I found! An impeachment case against the President five months later. I know, I know, the timeline is so far apart, but with three bombings in one day? I don’t think that’s something that’s easy to forget. Then last year, before PGMA’s impeachment case started there were threats and an actual bombing.

Isn’t it odd that whenever there are impeachment cases against the President, “plots against the destabilization of her government” comes out. The Philippines is in a state of confusion because of it and… I guess what I’m trying to get at is that these things happens and the government would say that the opposition is trying to use the incident to topple them over. With people so vulnerable, who wouldn’t believe the government?

Lame theory, I know haha, but what if it’s true?… It’s all so convenient, right? But no matter how hard I think about it, I still can’t believe how a goverment, no matter how corrupt, could place its citizen in danger just for them to stay in power (with this Martial Law comes to mind, whatever). So let’s just put this as a moment caused by me wearing a tin-foil hat, don’t we?

One problem with the consipracy reasoning regarding the timing and convenience of these incidents is that there is almost never a time that there’s no scandal or controversy going on. Think: can you recall of any six-month period where no headline-grabbing controversy happened in the Philippines since Ramos was elected? Nada. So the argument that bombings and stuff like that happen to divert issues away only just because of timing or convenience is a weak argument. It’s absurd, but I hope that the die-hard conspiracy theorists won’t claim that if, say, Mount Bulusan erupted cataclysmically and killed thousands that the government had a hand in it. (Yes, it’s absurd and nowhere near as plausible as the Glorietta 2 conspiracy. Hehehe.)

hahaha hey, be careful with that, someone might believe you hehe, seriously though, I don’t even believe with what I said hehe it’s really weak, I guess these things come to mind because people are so sure that the government is behind all those political killings that we’re almost ready to believe anything bad about the government
