Morph Code

Last week, syndeo’s dev team (luis, raymond, jason and I) spent almost the whole Saturday at Ateneo to attend MorphCode which was pretty exciting and entertaining at the same time. I thought it was daunting at first and I’ll be out of place because it will be a room full of developers (I kinda was) but it was still a very nice experience and made me excited at the route the Philippine technopreneurs are taking.

Basically it was just a business workshop. The attendees were told on what’s the difference between an elevator pitch and closed door presentation is. It gave me insights on how ruthless the business people really is, and when I say ruthless I didn’t mean it in a (very) bad way, it’s just that they’re really a bunch of very serious people who are willing to fund an idea given that that particular idea can give something back (duh). So anyway, last week was the preparation for yesterday’s meet.

Yesterday (it was me, luis, raymond and evan), the participants were supposed to give the 5-man panel an elevator pitch about the idea that they want to be funded. The ideas are supposed to revolve around e-governance, e-learning and e-health. I said “supposed” because the idea that luis pitched wasn’t in any of the categories :)) But, mind you, it still got positive responses due to its simplicity and ingenuity! Right now, we’re hoping against all hope that the positive responses from the panelists are enough to push us through the closed door presentation. Wish us luck everyone! :) Aw, I’m proud so of syndeo::media (wish hunter and kristina could be there though) :D

While listening to the pitches given by the other teams I can’t help but be bored by some of them (due to the fact that I can hardly make out what they’re trying to say or because they have very quiet voices that is hehe) and be awed at some of them because it just is a nice idea and it would be great if it would be produced and funded.

Anyway, those were a bunch of gutsy individuals that should be admired, now if only I have a bright idea and actually has the capability to bring it to life, I’d be very happy.
