iBlog4 and Morphxchange
2 events, 1 very long day.
Joni and I agreed that we would meet each other today at iBlog 4 being the curious people that we are (and because it’s actually the 3rd time that I registered for an iBlog event and I would really feel bad if I wasn’t able to attend yet again because of my laziness) and so we did after convincing ourselves that there’s absolutely no way that we’re going to miss iBlog 4.
We were late.
It’s because I actually needed an hour and a half allowance before I was able to really wake myself up and she because she was lost (oh man, I feel so good, I’m not alone!) hehe. But anyway, it was worthwhile, we saw Shari and her brother Robi, I also saw Ederic Eder (whose name I was only able to remember when I was already at home, sorry :( ), Jeric, Azrael, Geri … and a lot more (sorry if I forgot to mention your name).
During the talks, there was a moment of stupidity for me (someone’s supposed to be surprised right about now, I’ll be happy even if it’s just make-believe), that was before Pinoyblogero’s talk. After he was introduced, I was mildly surprised because I was expecting him to look like his avatar. LOL What kind of person in their right mind would actually think of something like that, right? I mean, seriously. Oh man, how stupider can I get?
Joni and I didn’t stay that long though because I also had to go to morphxcode, it was a follow-up to what we attended a few saturdays ago (yes it’s the same event only the URL in this post is the right one) where we are still underdressed, no surprise there I guess. Anyway, the speaker talked about what business plans should contain and as a little exercise, the guys asked us to prepare an impromptu “pitch” about the direction the “business” is going to take (or something like that). And of course, we are the only group with no powerpoint presentation … we have a website though! It was really, really fun. I wish I could bring everyone there, actually.
After the talks, the group went to The Bar (nice place, BTW, very relaxing atmosphere) to drink. I don’t really drink because the last time I was talked into it by my friends, my entire body became itchy for more or less 2 weeks. But … well, they’re all drinking and the guys recommended long island so I thought I could actually take it. After a few sips, I finally convinced myself that I have very low tolerance for alcohol because I became dizzy, and drowsy, and was very, very, very flushed. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, the boss told me that he ordered me an ordinary four seasons juice. I guess they felt sorry for me lol.
Somehow, I felt embarrassed haha, is it weird? As I was going home I told myself that maybe I really should start getting used to drinking even just a little… so that next time I could actually drink even half of the long island hehe. Seriously though, I kinda feel awkward being “treated like a girl”, I mean, no offense I just don’t like to feel that there’s special treatment, I guess, where they’re drinking and I’m having iced tea. I already couldn’t understand half of what they’re talking about when their “developer mode” is on and I feel like I would feel even more left out if I couldn’t drink as well.
So maybe I should start smoking too, no? People, you’re bad influence to me! LOL
I just remembered that on our way to Joni’s car, she said that when she saw the post where we (Liz, and I, I think) first commented she felt nostalgic and wanted to buzz me then but I was offline (bummer) and we went on to talk about when we first met through AngelaEden’s blog where we exchanged links and I got her link wrong lol. I don’t know, I just felt like sharing because I thought that was nice. :)

Yeah, I also thought Karlo looked exactly like that cartoon, with the “salakot” and everything, lol. Thanks for the company, Mae! I’m glad we got to bond again, and even more that we drove out of the QC circle alive! hahahaha. That was scary.

Actually, I really did look like my avatar, well at least, a couple of months ago. My appearance changed when I took a haircut, when I started to become fat (because of the summer vacation) and when I started to hang outside for hours burning my complexion.

Mae, I was only able to attend the part of the afternoon sessions… so we missed each other. :-/ And yeah, it had been a long day. Markku wanted me to join the after-after-party but I was too tired so I begged off. Hehehe.

So you we’re pushed into one of those Morph Labs after-event bar camps, eh. I know the absurd feeling of trying to keep up with the social drinkers. Next time, order iced tea. Doesn’t matter what they say. At least, you’d remain on your feet and world spins at a familiar pace.

@friarminor hi alain! yeah hope to see you personally… another one’s this saturday! :P My world still spinned at a familiar pace after I drank almost 1/4 of the content of the glass hehe I hate being uncomfortable so whenever I start to feel too hot I stop drinking hehe good thing my boss ordered a juice for me :P And they didn’t really forced me… They probably think I don’t like to drink with them ’cause I never told them that I have low tolerance on alcohol and that I have an allergy :))
