Manga Galore

I’m into manga these days (does anyone know where I can download DC comics though? I kinda want to read more about Batman and Spiderman and want that copy of the Death of Superman), I’ve read some the past few months like His and Her Circumstances, Hana Kimi, Power! and the likes (yeah, yeah, mostly shoujos), I loved them specially since they’re already finished.

You may see it as weird but I do love spoilers. I want to know what will happen to the main characters, that way I will be excited to finish the whole thing and I’ll be able to piece everything together because I’m kinda slow and I tend to forget stuff easily. I get uneasy when I don’t know what happens next to the point that I get a little obsessed over it. And ta-da, stuff that I’m obsessing over right now.

Vampire Knight

Vampire Knight main characters - Zero, Yuuki and Kaname
Vampire Knight main characters -
Zero, Yuuki and Kaname

This is the latest manga that I’ve finished, it’s nice, dark and dramatic. I can’t wait for it to finish! I hope it does soon because the suspense is killing me. :/ I heard that an anime with the same title will be going out this year, spring I think? I don’t know what month it is because here, the seasons are just hot and hotter.

This is one of the various stories about vampires, see the main characters are studying at a unique school called Cross Academy which have a day and night students. What makes it one of a kind is that the night students are actually composed of vampires. And that’s how our story about Zero — a vampire hunter who was turned into a vampire, Yuuki — a normal student who apparently is a pure-blood vampire princess, and Kaname — a pure-blood vampire prince who is Yuuki’s brother (it was later revealed).

On Being a Health Buff

My father can be such a nag sometimes. And willful. Once he’d set his mind on something, there’s no stopping him so when he starts talking about something, all we had to do is wait for a couple of months (or years most of the time) and we can already see what he’s talking about.

So imagine my surprise when he actually bought a treadmill one week after seeing one at the mall! So now, we have to exercise every morning and every night. I tried it the first time for 10 minutes and it already felt like I have been walking for an hour or so ’cause I’m just so soaked in sweat. It makes me wonder how come I’m not this soaked whenever I walk from the office to EDSA considering I have the mac with me then I remembered that I walk in the malls.

Papa have always been concerned about or health, like when we were kids we had to sleep really, really early (while in high school there were times when I’m already in bed at 8 or 9 in the evening and up at 4 in the morning) because our brains will not work properly if we sleep late, he tried to convert us to being vegetarians once but then again, he can force us to sleep early but we will never give up meat nor ice cream or cake or softdrinks!

Anyway, my body’s aching right now and I’m afraid that my legs will be even bigger now, I just wish it could make my waist slimmer sigh, I’m too lazy for this. I’m planning to stick with this routine for a while if I could see some result. That is if I could stop myself from binging.

CSS Reference via SitePoint

I would always complain about CSS this, CSS that, IE’s a pain, I heart FF, why won’t everyone just use any browser other than IE, blah blah. I have to say though that I really love what I do, it’s frustrating, it gives me nightmares and sleepless nights sometimes but I love it. However, when someone would ask me to teach them CSS, I just couldn’t.

I usually answer with what do you want to know? Which in turn will be answered with everything even though something specific would be nice. Or I would tell them to look at other sites across the web, do what they do and once you’ve understood it then stop looking at other people’s codes (unless you see something really, really cool) — I usually get the feeling that I’m boasting or making them go away so I don’t say that anymore.

BUT, that’s how I really started and Becca could vouch for it. I had some problems with another blog owner in the past and I don’t want it to happen again so what I did was I asked for her permission to look at her codes because I want to learn how to create a site that looks like table but is not using tables. hehe

From there I learned little by little, usually from my own mistakes. I only coded for IE then — until I realized that there are other browsers then I forgot IE until I read that browser support is important etc, etc. Until now, I can’t tell anyone all of the CSS style rules that I usually use off the top of my head because my memory is already rusty.

I really don’t know why I’m saying these things when all I really want to say is that I just found out that SitePoint released a CSS Reference that I think would be helpful for people who want to learn CSS — actually even to me. I only skimmed it but I think it’s nice. I love sitepoint.

And look, all it took was three sentences and one paragraph. Hurrah for unnecessary long introductions and nonsensical closing.

Psych

Psych

I came across Psych at C/S (one of my favorite channels right now), I don’t know what made me watch — It’s probably when the movie in HBO was so boring but I’m glad that I did! This one’s so hilarious lol. I’ve been watching a lot of crime shows — Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Criminal Intent, Cold Case, Bones (from time to time) etc. that watching a funny crime show is very refreshing.

Sure, the cases are pretty light, it’s kinda impossible that they could keep fooling people that Shawn is a psychic, someone’s bound to know. But their antics are pretty wacky it keeps serious thoughts out of your mind. You can’t imagine how pissed I was when the 1st season ended without my knowing and they had the reruns on Sunday mornings! That time I couldn’t even catch Law and Order because it was moved from night to mornings (5am every weekdays, darn!).

Sweeney Todd

Sweeney Todd

I’ve always liked Johnny Depp since I saw him at Chocolat — darn, he’s so gorgeous! So I went ahead and watched Sweeney Todd with my best friend last Saturday right after the bootcamp. I was so excited to watch it that I did not mind that dear Johnny Depp is a murderer, it cannot be that graphic, eh?

Before the movie started, my best friend and I agreed that we will never watch a movie like Saw, it’s just too graphic for our taste we might not be able to sleep after watching it so it’s not good. Then a few minutes after, we saw Johnny Depp slash a man’s neck, perfect, we went in a theater to watch a movie where blood spurts out unknowingly. Nice. Good thing is that we did not get our usual food for watching movies — burgers. LOL. I know that 300 was so graphic as well but I did not have to turn my ahead away from the screen so much before.
